Who in a billion years would have thought about a French Country Christmas Tree? Well...that would be me of course.
So let's get started. First you'll need to find a large urn of sorts. This can be a cement one, or a plastic one. Either way it's going to be beautiful. Once you get your urn, we'll talk about painting it to look like painted cement.
You'll want to use a very light grey paint in a matte finish to begin. This can be latex, acrylic or. You'll also want to pour a good amount of sugar into a disposable bowl. When ready, you'll dip your brush into the paint, then into the sugar and start painting. You'll keep doing this till your entire urn is covered. While it's still wet, sprinkle additional sugar over the surface and the more sugar the better.
Once dry, you'll paint your urn white and allow to dry. After it's dried completely, you take a piece of heavy grit sandpaper (120) and begin sanding the surface like the one above. When done, rinse under cold water and allow to dry. Once dry, spray a clear coat over it and allow to dry. This completes your urn.
Next is our tree. You'll want a small tree, around 4' in height. These tree's can be found on Amazon for the best price.
This one comes with a plastic base and this is typical on smaller tree's. Remove the base. Using Ready Mix Cement, you'll put some in the urn and holding the tree up with one hand, add enough cement till you're approx. 3-4" from the top of the urn. (enough for some ornaments to fit.
Add either all silver ornaments like seen above, or all gold ornaments. You'll also want to add atleast one string of beads. To top it off, add a satin pink ribbon.
Like seen above, you can also add small Dollar Tree Tree's that are done the same way.
