This should be of no surprise to you that I would be talking about Easing Into Winter. I know that snow is just around the corner, despite having very warm days for now. I'm a girl who enjoys her seasons, so this warm weather isn't being enjoyed by myself. Maybe you have a suggestion for me being able to work around this very small thing in my life.
For me, easing into the winter from our season of fall should have coziness written all over it. Like here for example.
So happily done in a French Country Cottage kind of way.
Antiques in the sitting room with a bountiful amount of pine on the fireplace, pine cones included. Several beautiful pumpkins left over from the season we're in and a cozy blanket welcoming you to just sit.
Then on the door, we have a handmade pinecone wreath and trust me, these are so simple to make yourself.
Baskets and Greenery
Big baskets filled with winter greenery add just the right wintery feel to any room in the house. I love the contrast of natural shades of brown and the texture of woven wood. Add bunches of greenery and you have an appealing look.
All you need is a large basket. Fill it with greens and twigs and you’ve created a welcoming scene.
White Candles
I have several white candles that I can use as winter decor accessories. This year I bought a few more for Christmas, but they will be perfect for winter decor accessories. I love the combination of winter white candles with wood candlesticks. It’s such an earthy, natural look.
CREATING A WINTER VIGNETTE
CREATING ANY VIGNETTE IS EVEN MORE SIMPLE THEN YOU CAN BELIEVE. JUST USE 3 SPECIFIC OBJECTS DIRECTLY PERTINENT TO YOUR VIGNETTE YOU WANT TO MAKE. LET'S HAVE A LOOK AT THIS WINTER VIGNETTE CREATED BY HEATHER AT SETTING FOR FOUR.
SIMPLE - SIMPLE. JUST GET YOURSELF A LARGE WOOD BASKET, THEN ADD 3 WHITE BIRCH LOGS AND A LARGE BOUQUET OF PINE. BOTH OF THESE CAN EASILY BE FOUND WHEN WALKING IN THE WOODS. IF YOU LIVE IN MANCHESTER, TRY MASSABESIC LAKE.
Pinecones
Pinecones are the easiest winter decor accessory. They are definitely a natural winter element. They have great texture and vary in shape and size. They can go in just about any container. Once you've found some, look around for the tiny pine cones (for another project).
Just use clear vases to display them.
Blankets
Collect as many blankets that you love and don't be shy about dropping in at any 2nd hand store.
Display them in a cabinet with glass so they can be enjoyed when your lying on the sofa.
Reuse Your Small Christmas Trees
All the small decorative Christmas trees that we use during the holidays can become winter accessories.
